In Memory of Christine Thomson

24/03/1957 - 06/01/2009
Welcome to our tribute page for Christine Thomson.

Anyone who knew Christine will remember what a kind, loving person she was, who always put the needs of others before her own, even when she was battling breast cancer before she sadly passed away on the 6th January 2009.

It is with these memories of this wonderful wife, mum, sister, daughter, nana and friend that we are endeavouring to raise as much money as possible in her name. For the past four years, we have held an annual Breast Cancer Ball, and our fundraising teams have taken part in various challenges, including marathons, half marathons and mountain climbing, which have helped raised over £55,000 for Breast Cancer Care.   It is our mission to continue organising events to raise even more money for Breast Cancer Care, to help support others who have been affected by this disease.

For more information on the events we are organising, please visit our website, www.breastcancerball.com

£370.00 Joanne Thomson11 May 2016 In ay 2015 I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and took part in 4 events, which got increasingly harder as the month went on. The first event was the 7 mile Breast Cancer Ball Sponsored Walk on the 3rd May. This was followed by the Morrison's Great Womens 10k which took in Glasgow on 17th May. On the 23rd May, I was part of a 50 strong team who are climbed Ben Nevis to raise awareness of the Breast Cancer Ball which was be held in Greenock Town Hall on 10th October 2015.. Finally I will finished the month by running the EMF Half Marathon in Edinburgh on the 31st May. Thank you for all your sponsorship which, as any money raised will go to Breast Cancer Care. This was difficult, but this discomfort pales in comparison to the struggles which breast cancer sufferers face each day, and the money raised will help to support those living with this disease.

Breast Cancer Ball 2016 has raised £15,360.00 so far This year will see the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Ball taking place on 8th October 2016. We hold this event every year to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, all in memory of Christine Thomson, who sadly lost her fight with cancer in January 2009. The last two events have been tremendous successes, and we hope to continue to make the event bigger and better each year. We are also raising awareness through holding special events before the Ball, and appreciate any donations which can be given for this special cause. In addition to the Breast Cancer Ball, several members of #TeamChristine are doing the Half Marathon and 10k at the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on the 2nd October, and have been training hard to take part in this event, so would really appreciate any donations you could spare.
